Hi
Supporters, we’ve had a strong week of support so lets continue
Growing, Signing and Sharing by spreading the word across our more than
100,000 active union member's networks, as well as (Financial Core
members) those who've taken a break from “The Guild” until our union
gets back-on-track and moves into the 21st century with pro-active
streamlined technology engagement like that which we’re petitioning for
today.

We've passed the 200 signature mark just this Monday. Way
to go. I feel great when I'm on-set with fellow artists or engaged
community supporters like yourself and they either thank me for starting
the petition or they acknowledge how long they've been waiting for the
union to implement Direct-Deposit.

Campaign Comments
As you
visit the campaign page for updates don’t hesitate to leave a quick
comment about your Shared Experience and how you may have been affected
by missing or late Session or Residuals fees. I know that it can feel
like you’re the only one but there’s close to 70 posted comments that
say otherwise.

Also, remember, there's power in numbers and we
have the numbers of more than 100,000 active Guild members and community
supporters to make this happen. So lets give a huge shout-out as a
thank you to our non-union and sister labor union supporters for being
there for us as well.


 Remember guys that one of many
benefits of this Change.org petition is finally implementing the
Residuals Tracking system that was promised during the SAG and AFTRA
merger-campaign 3 years ago. Had that system already been accessible,
think of the thousands of dollars that members may have received. The
family’s who didn’t have health insurance during that period.

Eroding Middle / Working Class
Since
the great recession all industries have taken income cuts or seen
repressed wages across the board. However, those employers can at least
be certain of receiving their paychecks, giving them something to work
with. Many actors, principal and background alike may spend 12-14 hours
per day on-sets in varying harsh conditions (Freezing snow to above 100
degree temps. Don’t Guild members deserve to receive their paychecks on
time?

We’ve done great this week as you’ll see as you look at our numbers, but there’s plenty of work to be done.
This
as a result of supporter’s diligence and willingness to unite as one
common voice by supporting our campaign you’re giving voice to helping
others.

SAG-AFTRA ELECTION BALLOTS
 SAG-AFTRA members, you
should have received your election ballot in the mail this week.  Its
more important than ever that you take the time to read the nominees
bios and reflect on issues such as our campaign when voting for the next
term leadership.

Election Is Our Future   
Before voting
give thought to changes that you’d like to see in our future union. And
feel free to Post your ideas on our campaign page for others to see and
think about.

Your Shared comments only strengthens the resolve to
inform our union leadership of how important our Change.org campaign is
as example of moving our guild into the future and maintaining the
heritage of strong American unions that many fought very hard to
establish.

great example of how simple, flexible and beneficial it has proven to be

I started this petition because SAG-AFTRA members contribute. Millions,
if not billions of dollars to America's annual economy and deserve the
right to be paid on time so that they may pay their bills on time, put
their kids through college, pay their mortgages and medical bills which
all are affected by strong credit history.

Don’t SAG/AFTRA
Members deserve the same rights as the rest of Corporate America to be
paid on time so that we can pay our bills on time, plan for our
children’s futures, be able to qualify for our pension and health
benefits?

The idea for a petition such as this, began less than 2
months ago during a conversation I and other SAG-AFTRA members had
while on set.  I was asked to step-up and agreed to be the spokesperson
for this campaign not only for myself but for all SAG-AFTRA members.
SAG/AFTRA Members deserve the same rights as the rest of Corporate
America to be paid on time so that we can pay our bills, plan for our
children’s futures, be able to qualify for our pension and health
benefits and not have our credit ratings dropped.


Do you
realize that while SAG-AFTRA members contribute millions of dollars
annually to America’s economy, many active and Financial Core members do
not see their paychecks for weeks or months?  In fact, many actors
loose thousands of dollars annually for neglected payments of principal
contracts, royalties, late fees and penalties for that would otherwise
be applied toward qualifying for their benefits.

We surpassed 100 signatures for this important petition within weeks of our first online request for support.. Now,
Just weeks later we are approaching 200 signatures.
This
as a result of supporter’s diligence and willingness to unite as one
common voice By supporting our campaign you’re giving voice to helping
others.


Now just 3 weeks later we are quickly approaching 200
signatures.  This major turn out of support has only been achievable
due to union members diligence along with numerous others choosing not
to think only as an individual but as a group and their other fellow
union members as well.

updates and follow our progress as we move closer to instituting DIRECT -
DEPOSIT.
